Bridges to Housing Celebration

Community partners, jurisdictional leaders and stakeholders came together on Monday, July 9, to celebrate the success of the five-year Bridges to Housing program serving homeless families in the Portland metro area.  The event included presentation of the final evaluation report by RRI, a personal story from a family member about her experiences in Bridges to Housing, and presentations from each of the four counties on their plans to continue and expand the program.

Oregon Mentors Training

On Thursday, November 10, Oregon Mentors is hosting an important training in partnership with Portland State University's Center for Interdisciplinary Mentoring Research on Youth Suicide Prevention. First, Del Quest, a doctoral student in the PSU School of Social Work will present the recent national studies on youth suicide prevention and qualitative findings on what youth and teachers say about prevention here in the Northwest. Then Sonja Miller, coordinator for Integrated Behavioral Health, Mental Health and Addiction Services Division at Multnomah County, will inform participants about the warning signs to look out for and how to access resources for youth in trouble. The 2011 Civic Engagement Award for Community-Based Research

The RRI is proud to announce a continuing tradition of winning the Civic Engagement Award for Community-Based Research. This year, Diane Yatchmenoff has been selected for the Community-Based Research Award for her leadership with the Trauma Informed Care initiative, in partnership with Impact Northwest and Catholic Charities!  Diane will  receive her award at the ceremony on Tuesday, May 10th, 2011, from 3-5pm. Congratulations, Diane!
