National Evaluation of the OJJDP Mentoring Enhancement Demonstration Project
- Thomas Keller -- P.I.
This study is a multi-site randomized trial evaluating approaches to improve the effectiveness of youth mentoring relationships by emphasizing the mentor’s role as a teacher and advocate. The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention awarded grants to 10 regional collaborates, each consisting of 3-4 independent mentoring programs, for them to implement strategies for training and supporting mentors as teachers and advocates. The research grant for a process and outcome evaluation of this major initiative was awarded to the American Institutes for Research (AIR). PSU has a subcontract on the project.
