PSU School of Social Work received a three-year Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant to prepare advanced MSW students to prepare social workers for careers in integrated primary care and behavioral health care settings. The project is focused on integrated care for children, adolescents, young adults, and families and has an emphasis (but not an exclusive focus) on rural communities and services for Latino and Native American communities.
The Integrated Care Project provides a stipend to 32 MSW students per year who participate in an advanced integrated primary care and behavioral health care field placement that provides several specific integrated care learning activities. Students will also engage in a specialized curriculum and field seminar and evaluation activities.
In 2015-16, students in the Portland, Eugene, and Bend cohorts will participate in the project. In 2016-17, Portland and Salem students will participate, and in 2017-18 students in the Portland, Eugene, and Ashland cohorts will participate.
